Ma's cousin, Aunt Jiji is here in Manila visiting my family. She happens to need an authenticated copy of her birth certificate from NSO and she had to fly all the way from Cambodia to appear in person before the DFA. (I didn't know it was that complicated to have something authenticated.)
We were way to Greenbelt 3 today for the 10:30 AM Mass and we were in the car when our conversation turned to the topic of younger men dating older women. The long and short of our discussion ended with Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher. I don't exactly know what makes their relationship click. Maybe the older woman is more mature. Maybe the older woman wants a younger man to be with so it's fun. Maybe couples with age gaps of more than 15 years enjoy each other more than couples who are of the same age. I don't want to go into specifics and mundane conclusions either as my blog site is for general patronage. I just don't really know. So, this is how we ended our conversation. It's just a plain and simple conclusion.
Auntie Jiji: Nowadays, it's ok for older women to date younger men.
me: Whew! (I heaved a sigh of relief with a silly grin on my face.)
Then Auntie turns to me and started laughing and we repeatedly had high fives. I think that thought is kind of comforting for me to know now that I'm turning 32 and still counting.
